Executive Summary

This project is designed to develop a new website for GretART Gallery, a growing art hub based in Malmö, Sweden, to enhance its digital presence and better reflect the gallery’s artistic vision. The previous website has been found lacking in effective storytelling, SEO, and user engagement, limiting the gallery’s ability to reach a wider audience.

Working closely with the client, Pia Jansäter, we have created a user-friendly website that aligns with her goals of promoting art on a community-focused and eco-conscious digital platform and showcasing contemporary artworks done by both her and her fellows. The new website has been designed with a minimalist aesthetic to emphasize the artwork, while also incorporating sustainable practices through lightweight design elements that reduce resource consumption.

We have conducted a detailed analysis of the previous site and identified several areas for improvement,

Based on these findings, we have implemented:
● A streamlined and responsive design that highlights the gallery’s artwork.
● Integration of analytical tools like Google Analytics to track visitor behavior and inform future strategies.
● An effective SEO plan to increase visibility and drive organic traffic to the site.
● Connections to GRETRO shop for initial e-commerce capabilities.
● Full content management control for the client, allowing independent updates and easy maintenance of the site.

Our research into leading contemporary art websites and client preferences have influenced the design choices, ensuring that the site remains modern and engaging. Despite time and budget limitations, we have effectively delivered a platform that offers the client more control over content and site management through a flexible content management system (CMS).

Initial user feedback has pointed out minor improvements in site performance and navigation, which are being resolved. The new platform provides a solid foundation for future growth, with plans for expanding features like e -commerce and SEO.

In summary, this project has met its primary objectives by delivering a functional and sustainable website that empowers the client with greater control. The new site is positioned to support GretART Gallery’s growth and help it engage with a broader audience, both locally and globally.

Feedback from Examinar (in English)

An excellent Executive Summary begins. It is rich in content and clear. I appreciate the explanation of the connection to Getro.

Generally speaking, this is a really extensive work.  I like that you are including the Future Scope – this clearly adds an extra dimension and is an excellent part to leave behind. Your User Guide also provides great value. A solid explanation of the wishes that existed is included in this. It makes me aware of the situation and makes it easier to follow the construction of the solution.

The tool part provides a good breadth and interesting opportunities appear. This is really the closest you can get to a DIY when it comes to building a website. It is very well written! Really been able to follow along the SEO analysis and its setup are thoroughly conducted and have a good quality.

The limitations in budget and time are clearly evident and make this work feel even more solid and of really high quality. The feedback part is a good insight into the work and a really good part.

By letting myself take part in all the documentation in the form of pictures, I feel that I have been able to follow along all the way. Perhaps the links to the corresponding text section would have been a better solution. As it is now, I have to jump back and forth in the surface.

A particularly well-written work – and the clearest pass with distinction I’ve given since I started at the school four years ago.
